THE INVINCIBLES
- From a Royal Engineers sport event located in Aldershot in 1959, documented by the commissioned photographers “Reader and Ward” -
After engaging with the Royal Engineers Museum’s Library and Archive for a month, Vittoria’s interests were captured by how the soldiers would spend they leisure time outside of their day to day duties in the army. The idea of this project is to decontextualise the healthiness of sports activities and reposition them in our modern consumeristic culture through the use of the most notorious sports brand’s mottos. The aim of this project is to make the viewer reflect upon how contemporary advertisements take away from the historic and noble values of sports within a community in attempt to make profit from them.
